Collaboration and partnership have been the cornerstone of Senderos’ work for the past 20 years. The partnership between Escuela David LaMotte and the AppFire team is a prime example of how working together, we can achieve so much more.
In 2022, AppFire, a leading software development company, helped the David LaMotte school in Tzanchaj achieve the goal of creating a computer lab, a requirement of the Ministry of Education for licensing of the school. Appfire donated eight computers and other equipment to the school, completing the accreditation requirement and enabling students to acquire essential skills that will prepare them for the future. In 2024, AppFire supported the school in building 2 new classrooms, allowing the school to grow by 2 grade levels in the coming years.
In addition to their donations, the AppFire team has gone above and beyond in their commitment to supporting Escuela David LaMotte. Over the years, members of the team have volunteered their time to work on projects that directly benefit the school and its students. These projects included building desks and bookshelves, painting some unfinished walls, and improving the roof, all of which have helped to create a more comfortable and organized learning environment.
During their service weeks in Tzanchaj, the team has also provided workshops on various topics, including health, art, teacher training, tai chi with the elderly, and yoga movement and breathing techniques with children. These workshops not only provided valuable learning opportunities for the students but also helped to foster a sense of community and connection between the AppFire team and the school’s staff, students, and the wider community of Tzanchaj.
This year, AppFire has begun a funding campaign through the online giving platform Benevity* to raise the funds necessary to build a second story addition onto the school building originally built with a grant from Rotary International.

The ongoing partnership between AppFire and Escuela David LaMotte is a beautiful example of what is possible when people come together with a shared purpose.
