We were so excited to gather with friends in Asheville in October to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Senderos. Alas, Hurricane Helene changed our plans. Due to storm damage, facilities weren’t ready to host us, and we all agreed that our attention should be focused on local aid and healing in the aftermath of the most disastrous storm to hit Western North Carolina in recorded history.
Of course, while our communities were in crisis locally, the needs of our friends and partners in Guatemala continue. Missing our October fundraiser left us in a challenging place in funding our work in Guatemala. Some amazing donors came through with year end giving that is keeping us afloat short term, but the needs are real and significant to keep up the important work happening in Guatemala. Our shortfall at the end of 2024 was about $23,000.
We want to give a particular shout out to Aiton Anderson Architecture, our major funder for our fall celebration.
Thanks to all of you who hoped to be there. We hope you will be able to join us on April 5 at the White Horse Black Mountain. Stay tuned for more information!
