Rotary’s commitment to service and community empowerment aligns seamlessly with Senderos’ mission to support education, music, and the arts in Guatemala. Together, we’ve supported rural schools, helped build libraries, and equipped classrooms. But this work isn’t just about materials—it’s about trust, accompaniment, and shared values. Rotary has not only helped fund essential infrastructure and resources, but members have also taken time to visit Guatemalan communities, listen to local leaders, and deepen the relationships that are vital to meaningful, respectful development work.
One example of this collaborative spirit is the support Rotary clubs have provided to Escuela David LaMotte in Tzanchaj, a small school with a big heart. With a Rotary International grant and the support of the Downtown Rotary Club of Asheville in partnership with the Rotary E Club of Atitlan, the new schoolhouse was built in 2021. And over the years, with Rotary’s continued support, the school has been able to expand its programs and better serve its students.
Rotary’s partnership has helped Senderos dream a little bigger, reach a little farther, and stand in solidarity with communities who are leading their own paths forward.
We’re deeply grateful for the Rotarians who have walked with us on this journey—past, present, and future.
