The Senderos Board Members had a deep and productive annual retreat over the weekend of August 8 thanks to the generous hospitality of the Blue Ridge Retreat Assembly. The retreat provides an important time to reflect and plan, making operational and strategic decisions on how best to support our partner organizations now and into the future.
During our time together we were able to celebrate the progress made by Senderos’ Guatemalan partner organizations over the last year and fine tune the direction we set for the organization last year when we developed a 4-year Strategic Plan.
Our time seated around a table for two full days allowed for in-depth discussions regarding the goals set by the program leaders, the most effective ways for us to support the programs, and measures of the programs’ impacts. Our new Treasurer of the Board provided an in-depth review of our current financial situation, and committees provided updates on their work. We celebrated the generosity and compassion of you, the supporters that make lives better for children in Guatemala.
This marked our fourth such retreat and each year our discussion has been elevated to be more strategic in nature. I am humbled and excited by the diverse skills and talents brought by each Board member to our table. Even more, I’m inspired by the passion for Senderos’ mission felt while seated next to people who are deeply committed to the vision of the organization: children and youth in Guatemala to have the education, imagination, and opportunity to make their dreams come true.
Thank you for helping to make the 2025 goals a reality and for your support making even bigger impacts in 2026!
