Lastly, Brillaguate – El Tejar, Chimaltenango Founded in 2014 by Sara Morales and Aracely Cano to support impoverished young women continue their education in the hopes of breaking the cycle of poverty that traps many young women in Guatemala. In 2020, the program expanded to work with young men as well. Currently, Brillaguate provides some financial support for the students to pay their tuition, purchase school supplies, and help with transportation costs associated with their studies. Brillaguate provides young people with a safe place to build healthy relationships with each other and with the program leaders.
